Protecting the District's NWRs
Fight for Your Land
What makes Georgia’s 1st Congressional District so unique is that it’s home to six National Wildlife Refuges — the most of any district in the continental United States. Only Alaska holds more within a single district. We have two primary goals. Goal One: Stop the Okefenokee Swamp from being turned over to the United Nations’ UNESCO program. This land belongs to Americans & Georgians, not international bureaucrats. Goal Two: Secure $10 million in direct funding for our six refuges — for equipment, maintenance, and facility upgrades — along with an additional $3 million in annual budget increases to keep them operating and protected for future generations. Georgia has proven to be a national leader in conservation.
Now, let’s make sure that leadership is supported with the funding and freedom it deserves.
